hypnosis for children
Children make wonderful subjects for hypnosis as they are so open to new experiences. They also find the experience most enjoyable. I am able to work with children from the age of 5/6 onwards and always in the presence of one or both parents.
the benefit of hypnosis for children
The benefits of hypnosis with children are the same as for adults, as long as their problems are treated as seriously as adults. Hypnosis is a powerful tool in strengthening a child's confidence. It helps a child to feel empowered where, before, they have been “victim.” It releases willingness to use their natural gifts. It elicits talent and creativity. It provides a wonderful foundation in their education. With a good hypnotherapist, children can experience true success in their lives in all areas. They feel happier, and have a sense of real freedom.
children & teenager problems
Unfortunately, there are many things that cause problems for children, concerns about changes in their bodies can cause stress and loss of self-esteem.
Various problems in school, with school work, teachers or other children, may be troubling a child. There are many fears that can plague children: fear of the potential danger in our schools today, fear of the dark, fear of going to sleep, fear of doctors, dentists and needles, etc. Many children experience the embarrassment of habits they find hard to break, like bed-wetting or thumb sucking. A new baby or other addition to the family can cause undue stress. Loss of their own bedroom space due to a new addition to the family, or having to move to a smaller place can make children unhappy. An underlying fear of kidnapping and other abuses may affect our children far more than we realize. It's difficult to keep such news away from a child's hearing, these days. the effects of fear & anxieties in children
Fears and anxieties in children can have many effects. Some children suddenly fall behind at school, lose their power of concentration, or become unusually quiet and brooding. In some it is their behavior towards their parents or brothers and sisters that changes. Some become unusually nervous, agitated or aggressive. Some begin to stutter or even to stop speaking altogether. It can be that a child shows physical symptoms such as twitching, hair pulling or hair twirling, nail biting , asthma attacks or migraine.
diminishing fear & anxiety
I have seen children diagnosed with ADHD, ADD, Tourettes, OCD, Dyslexia, and all manner of other 'labels'. This is not to say these labels are incorrect, but I believe that it is often deep anxiety at the root cause of the behaviors exhibited. Take away the anxiety and the behavior diminishes.
